Our college is a teaching and research-oriented institution with a distinct focus on resources and environmental fields. It is a comprehensive reform pilot college under the Three Comprehensive Education initiative of provincial universities and has been recognized as a key discipline construction college under the Double First-Class initiative. Three disciplines have been selected for the Double First-Class construction list, and we have been approved to establish the province's first professional doctoral program.
Our college is one of the most comprehensive academic talent training systems at Guizhou University, offering 5 undergraduate programs, 4 master's degree programs, 2 doctoral degree programs, and 1 post-doctoral research station. We have multiple provincial and ministerial-level research platforms, including key laboratories of the Ministry of Education and field scientific observation and research stations. Additionally, we have well-equipped undergraduate teaching laboratories, research laboratories, a national popular science education base (Wudang Geological Teaching Practice Base), and over 30 off-campus practice teaching bases. We also have three provincial and ministerial-level innovation teams for scientific and technological talent.
The college currently has one academician from the Eurasian Academy of Sciences, two national-level talents, five provincially managed experts, four provincial outstanding young scientific talents, one talent from the provincial Ten Levels program, and four talents from the provincial Hundred Levels program. Among our 133 full-time faculty members, 82% hold doctoral degrees, 78% graduated from Double First-Class universities, and 24% have overseas study experience. We have 50 associate professors, 33 professors, and 120 master's and doctoral supervisors.
In the past three years, the college has undertaken 283 vertical research projects with a total funding of 124.8 million yuan. We have published 552 papers, including 367 indexed by SCI/EI, ranking among the top in the university. The influence of our disciplines in environmental and ecological science and earth science has entered the top 1% globally according to ESI. Research led by Professor Zhao Yuanlong has won the 11th Golden Spike in China (the first in Guizhou), one of the top ten advances in Chinese paleontology, the first prize of Guizhou Province Natural Science Award, and the team has been honored as People of New Era in Guizhou. A team member published an article in Nature, achieving a breakthrough for Guizhou University. Our students have won over 30 awards in national and provincial competitions, including 9 first prizes. The college's domestic and international academic influence continues to grow.
Since its establishment in 1958, our college has cultivated approximately 12,000 outstanding alumni, including Academician Yin Yueping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. These alumni have become key personnel in related enterprises, industries, and departments, with an employment rate exceeding 95% and a further education rate of over 45% in the past two years.
